(brand yourself) on Viddler

Viddler is launching it’s “(brand yourself)” campaign at the New Media Expo through their new NME video site. However, this isn’t the only nifty Viddler thing going on behind the scenes. Yes, myself and several others are going to be there at NME with a bunch of co-branded Viddler tees to give away, but that’s not it either. What then is the newest, coolest new treat over at Viddler? It’s the spiffy new features they are rolling out into their services for those of us who use them. There’s a bunch of new stuff and I don’t even know which one is the best. I’ll do my darndest to expose them all and give you a good peek at what we all can play with via our settings admin panel over at Viddler.
As you see above, we have two new options in our settings menu. “Player Branding” and “iTunes & RSS”. These new sub-menus give us a ton of new settings for our videos. Here’s how they work:
Player Branding

This page offers a wide gamut of great settings for “YOUR” Viddler player. Now you can change the over all color of the player or go the the advanced options (pictured right) and customize nearly every aspect of the player (this affects both the regular and simple versions of your Viddler player). Additionally, you can now upload your very own logo ‘bug’ that will be placed the lower left corner of all your videos. How freaking cool is that? I whipped out a quick PNG image just to see what it looks like and I’m very impressed with the real-time preview of your player. This totally rocks! (Sorry, I’m semi-easilly amused, but you have to admit, this is pretty cool!)
iTunes & RSS

As if the player customization isn’t enough. The crew over at Viddler are adding super-simple iTunes and RSS integration into their services. In just a couple minutes, you can have your videos available in just about any subscription format including iTunes compatible podcasts. The bonus here is that they will even link to your existing feed if you already have one set up.

This just goes to show that the members of the Viddler crew really are all about you as a video producer and want to provide you with all the tools they can to “Brand Yourself” and make your mark on the Internets. I have to admit, I am very excited about the new features and will be wearing my new Viddler shirt proud at NME this year. Look for me while I’m there and if you catch me before they are all gone, tell me what you thought of this article and Viddler’s new tools and I’ll give you a limited edition iBAM/Viddler tee of your very own! See you @ NME!
